Investment in the Telecommunication Sector [2019]

Investment: Refers to the sum of the investment during the financial year made by licensees that provides telecommunication services (including fixed telephone, mobile, mobile & fixed broadband). An updated version is published for each year on the following fiscal year.

Fixed Telephone Telecommunication service: References to the active number of analogue fixed telephone lines.

Analogue fixed telephone lines: refers to the number of active lines connecting subscribers’ terminal equipment to the PSTN and which have dedicated port in telephone exchange equipment.

PSTN : Public Switched Telephone Network: A network that links the telephony networks in the world that depends on switching through circuit and have dedicated port in telephone exchange equipment

Mobile-Cellular Telecommunication service: References to the number of subscribers in Mobile-cellular telephone services, that is measured by the indicator includes the number of postpaid subscriptions and the number of active prepaid subscriptions (that have been used during the last three months).

Number of subscribers in Internet services: The indicator includes the total number of fixed broadband subscribers and the total number of mobile broadband subscribers.

Fixed broadband subscriptions: Total active subscriptions for Internet subscribers for speeds up to less than 256 KB such as dial-up, plus total DSL subscribers also (digital subscriber line) subscribers. Also the total number of Internet subscribers using fiber technology.

Mobile broadband subscriptions: Total active internet subscriptions by using the mobile.

Number of active internet subscriptions in the Mobile broadband: includes the number of postpaid subscriptions and the number of active prepaid subscriptions (that have been used during the last three months).
