Accessibility Policy

This policy has been developed to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal opportunities to access technologies that can enrich their lives. It covers a range of electronic accessibility factors, including digital content, website functionality, media, services, as well as accessibility using assistive technologies.



The browsing facilitation policy aims at the comfort of the target audience by meeting the needs of users with disabilities regarding the use of digital functions. This website applies a set of accessibility standards and techniques based on the Jordanian government website standards, which also cover the global WCAG 2.1 guidelines. Several features have been added to this website to provide necessary assistance to these groups, among these features:



Site Map

The Open Data Platform follows the Jordanian government website standards in tracking content structure through the site map, which facilitates navigation between content pages, making browsing and access to information and services easier.



Zoom Feature

The Open Data Platform supports the browser's "Zoom" options to enlarge text size to assist users who have difficulty reading text or viewing images. This feature can also be activated by pressing Ctrl and + to zoom in, or Ctrl and – to zoom out, and Ctrl + 0 to reset the screen size to its default settings.



Responsive Design

The Open Data Platform is designed to respond to different screen sizes, such as mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers, providing better display for screens with dimensions 768 x 1366.



Text Resizing

The Open Data Platform provides users who have difficulty reading texts with the option to enlarge or shrink the font size by clicking on the A+ or A- icon located at the top of the homepage.



Color Control

The Open Data Platform provides users who have difficulty reading text on certain color backgrounds with several color schemes that control the components' colors and greatly facilitate reading and reduce eye strain, especially for blind and low-vision users.



Keyboard Support

The Open Data Platform can be navigated using the keyboard by pressing the Tab, Shift, or Enter keys.



Scroll-to-Top Feature

The Open Data Platform includes a scroll-to-top button to navigate to the top of the page with a single click.



Non-Text Content

Images and non-text content must be provided with alternative text in Arabic or the intended language.



Audio and Video (Pre-recorded)

Equivalent alternative information should be provided for audio-visual content, depending on the disability.



Captions (Pre-recorded)

For pre-recorded audio or video, captions are provided in the preferred language (Arabic is the default language).



Orientation

The user must be able to select a vertical or horizontal display orientation.



Use of Color

Color should be used for decoration and conveying information.



Sound Control

The user must be able to control sounds that last more than three seconds (pause, stop, and control volume).



Contrast (Minimum)

A minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 must be provided for visible text elements (text and images of text).



Text Resizing

Text resizing should be available up to 200% without losing any information.



Non-Text Contrast

For user interface components and graphics.



Pause, Stop, Hide

The user must be able to pause, stop, or hide moving, blinking, or scrolling content.



Three Flashes or Less

Content should not contain more than three flashes in one second.



Keyboard Traps

The keyboard should not be locked on any part of the page (navigation within the page or out of it).



Timing Adjustments

Users must be able to adjust time limits or be alerted to do so through speech, text, or sound.



Error Prevention

The user must be able to undo any incorrect actions or cancel them, ensuring the ability to correct errors.
